About Dana Point, CA

Dana Point is a city in Orange County, California. Famous for it’s Harbor, Dana Point Harbor is one of the few harbors along the OC Coast with ready access via State Route 1. Built in the 1960’s, the harbor is home to a marina, shops, and restaurants and is point of departures for the Catalina Express. Enjoy year around activities, thanks to the mild temperatures in Dana Point, averaging about 70 degrees.

The Harbor is home to many whale-watching and dolphin tours. Enjoy snorkeling, fishing or spearfishing, the Kelp beds located just offshore are the perfect place for these activities. Not into the “water” pass time, no problem. There are other activities to enjoy such as the Festival of Whales, held in March; or the Tall Ships Festival held in September. How about a visit to The Ocean Institute? Located on a secluded beach with tidepools, the Institute is a hands-on ocean experience. Shop at any one of the unique, treasure filled shops located at the Harbor. Whatever you decide to do, you will enjoy it.
